2019 Taiwan International Human Rights Festival: The Scenery through the Adversity

Sep. 6th 2019 – Sep. 9th 2019

The 2019 Taiwan International Human Rights Film Festival: The Scenery through the Adversity hosted by the National Human Rights Museum selects 11 key films on human rights issues, reflecting the ongoing human rights situation at home and abroad. The film festival has two venues: Taipei and Kaohsiung, and invites those who enjoy movies or care about human rights issues to understand human rights around the world through films.

The theme of this film festival is "The Scenery through the Adversity ", suggesting that the structural framework full of "Adversity" prevents us from moving towards a better future. The process of crossing may add scars, but "The Scenery" is always worth looking forward to.

The film festival takes "Gender Equality Forward", "Today’s Hong Kong, Tomorrow’s Taiwan" and "Contemporary Youth Resistance" as the starting point and further discusses issues of the situation of the families of political victims, refugee asylum, immigration and identity, and digital human rights.

To promote human rights education, there will be 51 showings on tour after the film festival.
